What happened is that I was preparing to cook lunch when I got a little carried away with my new mandoline (a very sharp slicer) and I sliced the side of my thumb clean off (I know, because I had to pull it out of the mandoline and throw it away). It took FOREVER to stop bleeding, and then I kept it bandaged for two days. When I finally pulled off the bandage, this is what I saw. The digital camera took crappy photos. I REALLY, REALLY wish I had taken a better photo. Oh well, I'm sure I'll hurt myself again someday!
And yes, I have a scar. And some numbness. And an uneven thumb. :) RARRRR!
And I still hosted a family lunch for my aunt and cousin, a get-together for my friend Bonnie and her girls and a party, all in the same weekend! I ROCK!
