Yay, it's detailed parts of the nursery!

This is the lamp I made to match the curtains. I bought two plants for the nursery (this is one of them). I'll be interesting to see them grow as Lila does. This uber-cool dinosaur is all wood, and when you pull it by its string, it is extremely articulated and moves about in a very interesting way. We love it! I think it's Lane's favorite toy!

These are two views of what I imagine as the nursing area, where Lila and I will spend all our nights when we're awake together. I wanted to make it calming and magical and special, so it wouldn't fully wake her up with bright lights, but would allow me to see everything I needed to. In the top photo, you can see the second plant I bought, plus a pink lava lamp, a painting of Pitter #2 (more on that later), a little patchwork kitty my grandmother made, the hanging fairy, and a great rotating Little Prince lamp I got in Paris. The pinwheel slats in the top of the lamp make amazing shadows on the ceiling and the wall.

This is a closeup of one of the sides of the Little Prince lamp. I love the Little Prince; it's one of my favorite books. I actually found four baby books about him, and I bought them right away!

I got this switchplate on eBay, and it matches the cool sticky fish all over the rest of the room. I think it was a great find!

This painting was done by my great-aunt Grace (my maternal grandmother's brother's wife) of the second Pitter (my grandmother's Pitter). My grandpa found it in his closet earlier this year and I freaked out! It's perfect in this room, don't you think?

Here Aunt Grace signed the back of the painting. It's something I'll treasure always.

Here's the top shelf by the window. It has a ceramic pig bank (a wedding gift from Lane's brother Mark and his family with a donation to our honeymoon trip to Europe) and a print I got at a garage sale ages ago.

This shelf has a ceramic doll on it that was mine when I was younger (her name is Alice Veronica). The print next to it is a cat dreaming of being a flying superhero cat. I got it at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar many years ago.

This is the shelf I got from Target with the stars and moons cut out in the back. The stuffed animals are, from the top, Eeyore as Cupid, Salacious Crumb (from Star Wars), Babar (a puppet I got in Germany), a lamb, vintage Tigger, Fabien the puppet (from Paris) and a Boston Terrier (Pitter has been dying to destroy this for years).

This shelf houses an angel holding a mirrored ball given to me by Janet, a poetry set of wooden blocks that belonged to Lane, a sequined chick box given to me by Marisha, a stuffed fish Mom won at a drawing, a silver flip frame (currently empty) given to me by my Aunt Mitzie and Uncle Wayne, and a small wooden frame of a sketch of Noah's ark that goes with the bedding set Robin gave me.

I got this silver hippo several years ago. It's a tooth fairy box for when Lila starts losing her teeth. The silver spoon was purchased in Missouri at this great little store. It has a little bunny on the handle and it says "peas and carrots" (with tiny peas and carrots on it, of course). I fell in love with the phrase "like peas and carrots" from Forest Gump and I almost cried when I found this spoon! :) Lila probably won't ever eat out of it, but it's still way cool!

This wood-burned unicorn hung in my room when I was growing up. It was made as a gift for me by the neighbor of a friend of my mom's. I love it! Jennifer gave me this vase for my office, but it goes great in here, don't you think?

This is one of my favorite parts of the room: the stuffed fish hanging above the changing table. Mom found these fish to go in my bathroom but I never put them up, and turns out they're perfect for the nursery! I love how the painted circles turned out, and I'm hoping that the bright colors will give Lila something to look at while I'm changing her diaper and will keep her happy!

This concludes our tour of Lila's bedroom. :) Thank you for persevering and checking everything out. We had a great time decorating this room, and I know Lila is going to love being here.
