Yay, it's the nursery!Or....the room formerly known as "the storage room". For those of you who've SEEN this room in real life, try not to fall over from shock at the transformation. :) This first page is of a general 360 of the room, and the two pages that follow have detailed looks at what you're seeing here. Enjoy your tour!
Here is the view as you're looking toward the wall with the door to the hall open. On the door, you can see a nameplate that Lane and I made. On the door and the closet door, there are little sticky fish (from IdeaStix, if you want to check them out) that can be peeled off and put pretty much anywhere. The diaper bag goes with the crib set, a gift from my sister Robin.
Here's the closet door, with more fish and orange knobs (orange is our accent color with all this blue).
This is the view from standing in the hallway outside the room. You can see the curtains I decorated, some of the colored mesh boxes we're keeping her toys in, and her bookcase full of Disney videos and record albums.
Here's a closer view of the bookcase, with the lamp I decorated to match the curtains, an awesome wooden dinosaur I found in a thrift store, and the quilt rack Lane's dad made. On the quilt rack is a quilt and a baby blanket made for Lila by my Aunt Peggy. Thanks, Aunt Peggy! :) On the walls, I painted circles to represent bubbles (you'll see more of those later).
Here's the crib with a netting drape. You can see the bedding from Robin better here. It's Noah's Ark and we just love it! Ignore the ugly cardboard box under the crib. We THOUGHT the box contained the white drawer that goes under the crib for extra storage, but what it REALLY held was a black wrought iron table! It's going back this week to exchange for the ACTUAL drawer that's been ordered.
This is a shelf from Target that has cut-out stars and moons in it. I put colored felt to match the curtains behind some of the shapes, just to give it some "pop".
Here's the other window and the glider (covered with more blankets from Aunt Peggy to protect it from cats, dogs and the assorted baby mess). The glider was a gift from my parents, and I think it's going to be great to have. Soon, I'll have an ottoman to go with the glider, but it hasn't arrived yet. When I quit breastfeeding, the glider will go in our living room, but until then, this is where it stays. You can also see the second bookcase, along with two more shelves and some painted circles.
More of the second shelf and the wall, with part of the changing table. Eventually, I'll keep my baby wipes, etc, on this shelf, for handy reachability, but for now, we have a coordinating kleexex box. :)
This dresser was painted by my parents and we added orange handles. On the wall are more circles, these with puffy fish hanging inside them. The changing pad doesn't have a cover on it yet, but it will have before a baby goes there!
This is the view outside Lila's main window. You can see more sticky fish on the window. Beyond that, is our front tree and bed beneath it.
This is a closer view of the flower bed beneath our front tree. I'm hoping all that stuff survives the summer!
This is the third view from the window, including our mountain laurel tree (it blooms incredibly fragrant purple blossoms) and our flag.
