First thing, something I've never really been clear on and just never asked anyone....if it's about to be Jan 2006, is it New Year's '06 or New Year's '05? Because you're still IN '05 when it's happening, but it's about to BE '06, so do you say "New Year's '06" or "'05"? Anyone who could clear this up for me would have my undying appreciation. :)
In the '05/'06 New Year (WHATEVER!!) we celebrated in style at Sondra & Jon's. They had a "grown up" dressy party at their house and Mom & Daddy sat with Lila, so Lane and I got to go and enjoy ourselves as we so rarely get to do these days: without Lila and TOGETHER. Usually, if we're having a LOT of fun, it's not as a couple, but just on our own with friends. It was a huge treat to get this evening together, and we made a lot of great memories. Frankly, it's pathetic that these haven't been online before now (10/06), but you do what you can, right? :) At least they made it up at all!
I will preface these photos by saying that you will probably be able to tell that there was a bit of drinking at this event, but that everyone is WELL over 21 years and that there were designated drivers in every group. In fact, several folks opted for sleeping on Jon & Sondra's sofas and extra beds, so DRINK RESPONSIBLY; we did.
Me in my fabulous dress, the same one I wore to Lane's company Christmas party. I love this dress. I think I mentioned before that my mom bought it for me for my bday in '05 so I would have something fantastic to wear through the holidays. Is it wrong that I'm already thinking about wearing it again this Christmas? I should skip at least a year, right? :) People would talk. (Oh, and check out my pseudo high-fashion pose in the first panel; I crack myself up!)

I also want to say about my makeup here. I did something different, where I went really dark with the eyes and nude in the mouth and light on the brows. I rarely (if ever) go light with my brows, and although I was really thinking I loved it before I left and all during the party, I am NOT so loving it in the photos. I really need my brows to look my best - at least in photos - so it's not something I'll be doing again. I think I lose some of my OOOMPH with no brows. Maybe it's just me.

This is the only photo I have of Lane from New Year's. He was manning the camera a lot, so of course he's not IN any of the photos. But here he is, and with a crown, no less!!

Sondra & me, bestest friends!! I was using this great gold pommade that night; it turned out different than I had intended, but you can really see the gold here in this photo.

J9 and me in our FABULOUS coats. I do not think I am making it up to say that this is Sondra's coat that she loaned to J9 that night because it got cold and rainy. It looks great on her, though, don't you think? My coat is my wonderful cranberry wool that I got up in Pittsburgh one winter in a thrift store. It has real mink sleeve and collar trim and it cost me THIRTEEN DOLLARS. I love love love this coat.

Me, Sondra & J9! I love J9's dress. She bought it for a cruise a few years back, and I have to say that ONLY J9 could wear this dress. It looks awesome on her.

And now we dance! Dance, monkeys, dance!!

Joining the three now is Laura, David's wife (girlfriend? significant other? whatever!). She totally rocks. Sadly, she has a young child, as do I, and we don't get to leave our Mommy Lives enough to really have a lot of great times together. I will say that she is my kind of freak (which she will take as a compliment) and that she is our sister in our hearts, even if we rarely see her!

Laura, J9 and Sondra. This is a classic "Sondra face". If you're around Sondra long enough, you'll see this face. It's her RARRR face. I love it!

JR wanted to see what was under Sondra's skirt. I will tell you that JR only gets really, really drunk about once every two years, and it seems to happen on New Years. This year was our lucky year. You should know that when JR gets really, really drunk, he starts hitting on everyone. Male or female, it doesn't seem to matter. He always denies it, but we have witnesses, and later, we have photographic evidence! It's like the "JR drinking barometer"; did he hit on a girl, or a boyfriend/girlfriend couple? He's skunk drunk. It's a really good think Michael loves him!!

Me, David & Sondra. We LOVE David, and we don't get to see him nearly enough. When I see David, I think I make noises only a dog can hear and I leap at him. He's THE BEST. LOVE LOVE LOVE the David.

All the old work crew (well, except for Lane, who is taking the photo!) - reunited for New Year's!
