When I was Bald

In 1997 I shaved my head. I had been cutting it shorter and shorter over the last two years, and one day, I just got the clippers and started cutting. I kept it shaved to a quarter inch for over a year, when I started growing it out for Lane's and my wedding. What you see in the wedding section is me with my hair where it had grown out over the 11 months prior to our wedding.

I haven't had it this short since that time, but I don't regret shaving it. I LOVED having it short, and I actually think it's something all women should do once in their lives. It's FREEING to have no hair, and you suddenly realize that you're not pretty because of your HAIR, but you're pretty because of your eyes or your smile. You don't have anything to hide behind, and you can get ready in a SNAP. It's fantastic! Try it!

Following are some photos taken of me by Lane on the porch at our old house when I very first shaved my head. Enjoy!

I got new Glasses!

Here I am in my new glasses! Not a lot of people know I wear glasses, because I don't have to wear them all the time, only at work. These are new, however, and I like them so much I decided to actually have a photo made in them. Maybe Lane and JR will decide to put pics up of their own pairs of new glasses (hint-hint). I think they make me look like Lisa Loeb, if you know who she is.

Incidentally, JR reports a sharp inclination in the rate at which men hit on him since he got his new pair. And to think that he didn't want to buy this pair! We had to talk him into it! He's grateful now, though. :)
