Following are some photos from Lila's first month out of the belly.

Lila's first photo, fresh from being born. Please note how swollen she is - we're attributing this to water retention, as she looks NOTHING like that even three days after this was taken. You can also see her cone head where she came out on the side of her head. I pushed for so long that her head was temporarily malformed in the birth canal. We were told this might not go down for several days, but it was almost normal looking in only a matter of hours. The swelling of both head and body caused her to weigh more than she might have and to be counted as longer than she actually was. (9lbs lloz, 21 1/4")

Here's Lila coming home from the birthing center, a mere 7 hours after being born. This is the very outfit (sans hat) that I wore home from the hospital. Mom saved it for me and my doll Dulce wore it for years. I cleaned it and had Lila wear it home. My daddy loves this photo. It's the Baby Buddha photo!

Lila, already posing for photos!

Lila and Uncle JR.

This is Lila's namesake, Lila Hammack with her husband, Taylor Hammack. The first photo is from their wedding day and the second was at an anniversary, I'll have to find out which one. Both have passed away, but her children LOVE little Lila and have made such a fuss over her.

Uncle Loyd with Lila. Whitney tells me he's smitten with her. He's agreed to babysit so Lane and I can go see Lord of the Rings one day. Now that's love, 'cause it's a LONG movie!!

Lila and me in the backyard. These are the first real photos of me that I had taken since the birth. I've lost 33lbs as of this photo of PURE WATER. Boy, was I puffy!!

Lila in a laundry basket on the floor in Lane's office, safe from the dogs!

In the front yard in Mommy's (that's ME!!) lap.

In the grass, left like an Easter Egg!

On Mommy's shoulder.
