Earlier this year, Lane and I went to Houston to visit our friends Ivy and Tom. I went to college with Ivy in the late 80's, and we were Kajukenbo (a martial art) partners (we were the two shortest girls). (We took third in State in bo, which sounds WAY more impressive than it actually is, as I think only 6 or so pairs competed.) We have been FAST FRIENDS ever since, staying in touch even though she left me to move back to Houston ages ago. :( She's married to long-time sweetheart Tom, who is so nice and COOKS LIKE AN ANGEL (if angels cooked!) and they live in Houston with their two cats, Kato and Ashes, and their snake El Sueno (named after Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwan, dontcha know).
Ivy and I almost never get together, and we have VERY FEW photos of ourselves together. These are especially precious. We went to a party celebrating the Gay Pride Parade that evening and I met all kinds of wonderful people.
