So now we're in transit to the final bar, where we dance, dance, dance and visit with some of the bar patrons. Sondra and I met two wonderful woman in the ladies' room, one who talked to me at length about my wig, and another who visited with us later at her seat with her date. She thought my wig was my actual hair!! How crazy is that??

Kathleen and husband Geoff. His name is pronounced "Jeff" but it's spelled with the G so, like, EVERYONE BUT ME calls him "G-off", which really bugs me, because then I'm not sure if that's actually like how he pronounces his name or what!! The man's name is pronounced JEFF. Jeff, jeff, jeff. I need to just start thinking of it as a nickname and let it go, right? Why this bugs me, I have no idea. Things like this are why I don't sleep very well at night....
Dig J9, rockin' those patterned tights!
Kathleen and Sondra share the love!
Lila's favorite building downtown: the Frost Tower. A bit of trivia for you is that the Frost Tower is the first skyscraper built in the US after 9/11. I love this building.
OK, so now we're into another night of girling. This was in late April when we joined a whole crew of folks downtown. Several of my "mommy friends" left their kids with their husbands and joined us out for a good time. Here, J9 and Sondra pick me up at the house before we leave. You will note this is the same dress I wore out to the prior event, but I'm sans wig and am wearing my dancing shoes. Boogie-oogie-oogie all night!
I feel compelled to tell you that this is my natural color hair, hair I'm seeing for the first significant time since roughly 6th grade! Turns out I'm not remotely blonde anymore, but am a light brunette. Wow! Who knew?
And now we grope. Why we always seem to grab Sondra, I don't know. :)
OK, clearly THIS is why we always grab Sondra. With such ample targets, how can you NOT want to take a little grab? The first bar we ended up at turned out to be hosting this fabulous lesbian night, and I have to say that we fit right in. After leaving there, we went to at least five other places, rejecting at least two of them based on bad music/bad crowd/bad whatever. We had great fun wherever we went. I about drank my weight in cherry drop martinis (or whatever they were) and we wound down at Antone's, where I danced and bought Lila a fabulous t-shirt. She's the only three-year-old with an Antone's t-shirt, let me tell you!
A photo J9 took at one of the last bars we went to that night. Sondra, J9 and I were joined by Chrystal (from Carnaval), her friend Brianna, Monica and Kara. NOT SURE who Monica's friend is, but I'm sure she'll email and tell me. :) You can see the red on my tongue from my berry martinis!
One final photo of another night going to the Karaoke bar with Sondra.
And thus ends the girls' nights for this portion of 2006! Thanks for looking!
