Jennifer was my TOTAL ROCK this year. I would have seriously thought about skipping this Carnaval if it hadn't been for Jennifer's "HELL YES" attitude about going. Even though her own costume was pushed to pieces being created the same day as the show, she never freaked out the way I would have in her same situation. She was so excited this year about her fantastic costume, and even though she had some technical difficulties at the show, she never lost her fantastic spirit. I was so proud to have her as my posing partner!
Jennifer was a dragon this year. She had been thinking about this particular design for at least a year, and she really did a fantastic job bringing it to life. Everything but the base for her robe was made by Jennifer. Even the robe was modified, to include those fantastic sleeves - I have no idea what they're called. Anyone?

This was Jennifer's first year dry-running her makeup. She was really able to make some modifications to her final makeup and was so happy with the results. I think she looks amazing; those bright colors really pop and make her eyes look amazing.
Her headdress!! Look at those amazing spikey things! She also had eyes that were lit up until basically walking through the door at Carnaval. SUCK! It made it difficult to "see" the dragon in her headdress in the dark. This shot is the last photo we got of the eyes glowing. At least we got the one!!

Yay, cleavage!! Jennifer works in the school system, so she is always SO CAREFUL not to show anything that would even remotely get her in trouble with parents or the administration. Guess what she teaches? Did you guess art?? You'd be right!!
Can you see the back of her headdress, the long gold bit hanging down? I loved it. Her skirt and shirt with the keyhole opening look fantastic too. I think her mom helped her on the skirt, I could be wrong. Yay creative moms!
Dragon, rarrr!
Here is probably the only shot we got that includes the back of her headdress. It went really long, which looked fantastic, but as people would put their arms around her for a hug, it would pull her headdress back, over and over and over again. It made it really difficult to keep her hair pulled back and to keep everything centered. I can't say enough about her fantastic attitude. This is what Carnaval is about: go with joy in your heart and with a willingness to accept what befalls you and your costume once you arrive. Sometimes your headdress slides back. Sometimes you fall in the bathroom. Sometimes your pastie or eyelash start to come off. Often, your shoes hurt. :) But you deal and you have fun anyway.
One more!! Sadly, Jennifer was unable to come out and pose again with me for those night shot photos. We are going to get this photo thing together next year, I promise!!
