Carnaval 2006 - J9 & Me (because we deserve our own page together!)

Probably my favorite photo of J9 and me together, close up. I was obviously in the middle of saying something, but it's KIND OF a smile, so I'll take it! :)

A full-length shot of J9 and me at the hotel. We had a blast working on our costumes this year. During J9's Pre-Carnaval Slumber Party, it was mostly the two of us, hanging out and working on costumes. Chrystal and Jennifer came for a while, but I was glad that J9 and I had the opportunity to hang out just the two of us for so long. Since Lila was born, those "just grown girls" times with my best girlfriends are few and far between.

Posing, I think, outside at the hotel.

Shall I tell you the story of our mishaps in the restroom? I've been saving it!

So, J9 and I had gone to the bathroom to try ONCE AGAIN to fix her headdress. Nothing was working the way we wanted it to, but we were trying our best. First, J9's ponytails got a little wet while she had the headdress off adjusting it, then when we put it back on her head, the ponytails splashed on my chest and my STUPID FAKE TAN ran in rivulets down my front!! NEVER AGAIN with the fake tan. We tried to smooth it over, but it didn't work all that well. THEN, as I was reaching to put away my lipstick in my sock, for the first time ever, I fell off my platform boots. I toppled off to the side, twisting both ankles and landing BOOM just to the left of my tailbone. My headdress slid down over my face, popping off sparkles and smearing black into my yellow stripes. One girl goes "oh, she is sooooo drunk" when in fact I hadn't had a single drink, even at the hotel!! I was pretty embarrassed, and told J9, "now I look like the drunk girl" and she said "no, you look like the sober girl who cares what her makeup looks like" and she stayed with me while I glued sparkles back on (yay, emergency glue!) and tried to fix my makeup. Later, my only real causality was that one of my gold sequin "eyebrows" fell off! So I was all lopsided with my eyes! You could see it if you were looking at it, but in photos from a little off, you can barely notice. I started getting upset about it, and then I saw how J9 was handling the almost total collapse of her headdress and losing her armband, and I had to learn from her example and just keep smiling and dancing! :) She's an excellent role model, take my word on it!!

I LOVE MY J9!!!

More photos, ending in a KISS for you all! SMOOCHIES!!
