Carnaval 2003

Here are some live shots of the boogie-oogie-oogie-ing that went on at Carnaval. We danced and danced and danced until our feet felt like they were going to fall off!

Alisa "gets down on it" with her boyfriend Alex. I'm told that "something nasty" happened right after this was taken, but since I failed to witness it myself, talking about it would be hearsay! But you can use your imagination. :)

J9 was the BOOGIEMEISTER all night long. Lane said that watching her dance made him tired. :) It is worth noting her that Kearson wore those beads under protest. :) But he wore them! Kearson is learning to go with the fabulous flow from time to time, bless him!

Carlos and I dance the night away. I love his boa. It's so beautiful! Oh! And see the purse I'm carrying? It's a Mary Kay cosmetics bag I modified and decorated to carry my three lipsticks, ID, and EMERGENCY GLUE! You can never have too much emergency glue. You can quote me on that. :)

J9 and I dance, dance, dance!

A great shot of J9 and me, taken by Lane, of course. It's blurry, but I think it's really cool with the sparkles and the colors.

Thus concludes our Carnaval extravaganza, 2003. Lane and I were showered and in bed by 3:30am. The rest of the crew went back to Sondra's where Mel made everyone yummy chicken quesadillas that, to hear them tell it "saved their lives". Yay Mel! And if you can believe it, ALL the folks from the original group at Sondra's made it to brunch the next day, where we gladly celebrated the END TO THE CARNAVAL diet by eating WAY TOO MUCH. While it had been FREEZING cold the night of Carnaval (it always is, it seems), the day after was BEAUTIFUL and sunny and downright warm. Sitting together, sharing our stories from the night before, laughing and enjoying the "morning after", already planning for next year.

Carnaval 2003 was an amazing evening spent with amazing people. I particularly love these women and I love it that we're all so different and beautiful in such varied ways and how we are all so much ourselves. Yay us! :) I'm so way lucky. Thanks for sharing in the fun.
